Prosecutor's Office
The Specialised State Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Slovenia was established by the State Prosecutor's Office Act in 2011. The Specialised State Prosecutor's Office developed from the former Group of State Prosecutors for the Prosecution of Organised Crime. The group was organised within fhe framework of the Office of the State Prosedutor General of the Republic of Slovenia as a special organisational unit with jurisdiction over the entire territory of the state.
Supreme State
Prosecutor's Office
The Office of the State Prosecutor General of the Republic of Slovenia performs the functions of state prosecution before the Supreme Court of the Republic of Slovenia, and coordinating, supervisory and educational activities with respect to district state prosecutors' offices and the Specialised State Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Slovenia with a Special Section.
District State
Prosecutor's Offices
Eleven district state prosecutors' offices perform the duties of the first instance authority. Local state prosecutors, district state prosecutors and senior state prosecutors are assigned to district state prosecutors' offices. Their area of operation covers eleven district courts. State prosecutors from these district prosecutors' offices also appear before local courts in their territory.Some district prosecutors' offices have external sections as organisational units.
